Ethical consumer choices

Boycotting is a full on word. I prefer to use the term 'making ethical consumer choices'. By simply being critical about what you buy and where you purchase your products from. It can be a fun and empowering way to make a difference. This is a place where you can really have the power to make a change. For example, purchasing 'Fair Trade' Products so that producers receive equitable pay. Or not buying Kleenex products because they support old-growth logging and woodchipping rather than other alternatives available.

Is there anything you consciously avoid buying or supporting?

The more people that do this (be critical about what they buy and where from), the stronger the influence it has to affect what type of world that people, plants and animals live in.

Another tactic is letter writing to the company that produces the product that concerns you to suggest alternatives.
